DIGISTOR’s external hard disks use either USB or FireWire connections, giving you options for your choice of interface. These mobile hard drives are bus-powered, it draws its power from the data connection and does not need any external power source.
Plug-and-Play connectivity to Windows or Mac OS X
DIGISTOR’s external hard drives provide maximum compatibility whatever your operating system may be. DIGISTOR mobile hard disks come in either PC-formatted NTFS – for compatibility with desktops, laptops and netbooks that run Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7 – or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format, for full compatibility with Mac Pro servers, iMac, Mac Mini and the MacBook laptop family.
DIGISTOR™ Portable Hard Disks are “daisy chainable”
Through FireWire technology, DIGISTOR portable hard drives are “daisy-chainable” – connect multiple external hard disks in a daisy chain series connection and still get the maximum transfer speeds that FireWire can give. FireWire also gives you hot-swap capability while in the daisy-chain, allowing you flexibility in using multiple mobile hard disks and data sources. Daisy-chain up to 16 drives in FW400 and up to 63 drives (and other FireWire devices) via FW800.
